Director/Producer Jody Hill grew up in North Carolina where he attended film school at the North Carolina School of the Arts.  After graduating and working several television jobs in Los Angeles, he moved back East where he and fellow NCSA classmates Danny McBride and Ben Best produced the feature film The Foot Fist Way, which Hill co-wrote, acted in and directed.

Premiering at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, The Foot Fist Way made a splash in the comedy world and caught the attention of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, who co-released the movie under their Gary Sanchez Production house.

In 2009, Hill, Best and McBride teamed up again to co-create and produce the critically-acclaimed HBO comedy series, Eastbound & Down with McBride starring as “Kenny Powers,” and Hill behind the camera directing. That same year, Hill also wrote and directed the Warner Bros.’ comedy, Observe & Report, starring Seth Rogen, Anna Faris and Ray Liotta. Later that year, McBride and Hill joined forces with David Gordon Green to found Rough House Pictures, the production company behind movies such as Prince Avalanche starring Paul Rudd and The Sitter featuring Jonah Hill.

Hill and McBride are also developing an untitled half-hour comedy for HBO starring McBride that is slated to begin production in 2014.

Hill currently resides in Los Angeles.
