Dave Becky, partner at 3 Arts Entertainment, plays an integral role in the development and production of both television and film properties, as well as shepherding the careers of some of today's actors, writers and comedians.
Becky was born in Montana and raised in California. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University. After starting his career in entertainment as a comedy club manager at the Improv in San Diego, Becky moved to Los Angeles to become a segment producer on Dennis Miller’s syndicated talk show. He then joined 3 Arts Entertainment in 1994 as a talent manager specializing in the representation of comedians. Becky subsequently branched into film and television production.
In addition to Louie, Dave is currently producing the hit HBO series Bored to Death. Dave's executive producing credits also include: Everybody Hates Chris (UPN), Human Giant (MTV), The Factory (Spike TV), Lucky Louie (HBO) and The Hughleys (ABC/UPN). He has also produced comedy specials such as Louis C.K.: Chewed Up (Showtime), Louis C.K.: Shameless (HBO), and Louis C.K.: Hilarious (Comedy Central & Epix); Dave Attell’s Captain Miserable (HBO); Mike Birbiglia's What I Should Have Said Was Nothing (Comedy Central); Bill Burr's Why Do I Do This (Comedy Central) and Let It Go (Comedy Central); Kevin Hart's Grown Little Man (Comedy Central), Seriously Funny (Comedy Central) and the upcoming Laugh at My Pain; D.L. Hughley's Unapologetic (HBO), Aziz Ansari’s Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening; and Comedy Central's Mashups. Dave was also involved in producing the feature film Pootie Tang for Paramount Pictures.
Dave is involved with Toluca Lake Baseball, a youth baseball league, and also volunteers at Campbell
Dave is married to Lainie Sorkin and has three children, Eve, Cash, and Cruz. He and his family reside in Sherman Oaks.
