Olga Merediz has entertained audiences in a variety of roles spanning theater, film and television.

Merediz is best known for her Tony® Award nominated performance as "Abuela Claudia" in the Broadway musical In The Heights. Her additional Broadway credits include roles in the productions of Reckless, Mamma Mia, Man of La Mancha (original Revival cast), Les Miserables and The Human Comedy.

Her numerous film credits include The Place Beyond the Pines starring Ryan Gosling, The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, Remember Me, Mr. Popper’s Penguins, Changing Lanes, Music of the Heart, Evita, Centerstage, K- Pax, City of Hope and Isn’t She Great. Merediz can next be seen starring in Fugly! with John Leguizamo and Rosie Perez and the Chris Rock written and directed feature, Finally Famous.

In television, Merediz has guest starred on several series including the critically-acclaimed Orange is the New Black , Royal Pains, Blue Bloods, Law & Order: SVU, Pan Am and The Sopranos. She has also co-written two television pilots: Addicted to Love and Papa's.

The multi-lingual actress has lent her voice to radio and television commercials, documentaries (Cuba: The Accidental Eden) and the animated series Dora the Explorer. Most recently, she recorded the song “Voiceless” to support the welfare of suffering animals, a cause that is very important to her.
