David Labrava is enjoying his 6th season on Sons of Anarchy, playing the role of 'Happy' the club assassin. David was hired to be the technical advisor at the show's inception, and after Kurt Sutter met David, he cast him on the show, and he has served both roles ever since.
A gifted writer, David created, pitched and sold his first show in season two to FX. He recently sold his second show to FX this past year and is developing that now.
David co-wrote episode 10 in season 4 entitled, 'Hands' with Chris Collins and Kurt Sutter, which Time magazine named best of the season.
Discovered by Zalman King (9 1/2 Weeks, In God's Hands, Red Shoe Diaries) in a restaurant in Miami Beach, David was cast by Zalman in the Whiplash ZK series where David worked in front of and behind the camera. Zalman then gave him a job as a cameraman and taught him the art of scriptwriting.
David has been getting published in various publications since 1990, and has a column in National Hot Rod Magazine titled "OL' Skool Rodz".
David is a multi-faceted artist creating art in various mediums. He has been a tattoo artist for over twenty years; he is a glass artist that teaches students. He is also a five diploma Harley Davidson Mechanic, and has had motorcycle's and Hot Rod's he has built featured in national magazines.
He owns a film company called Artful Dodger Filmworks and has recently completed a short film which he is currently editing. He will also be directing a feature film which he wrote after season five ended. His clothing line, DOGKULCHA, benefits animal rescue.
David is a world traveler that has lived in more than twenty countries. He writes from life experience.
David has found a home at FX. He has a great appreciation for film and television. He enjoys scriptwriting and sees the blank page finished, edited with the music.
