Mia Maestro stars as "Nora Martinez" - An intelligent and driven biochemist. Nora is a member of the CDC Canary team and is in love with Eph. She understands Eph is trying to repair his marriage, and she encourages him to be a part of his son's life. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Nora moved to the U.S. with her mother when she was eight.
A talented actress, singer and songwriter—Mia Maestro has created a wide array of complex and memorable characters throughout her versatile career, while also carving out her own unique artistic place in the indie music world.
Maestro made her screen debut in Carlos Saura's Tango, which received Golden Globe® and Academy Award® nominations for Best Foreign Film. In 2004, Maestro starred in The Motorcycle Diaries opposite Gael Garcia Bernal, which also received a Golden Globe® nomination for Best Foreign Film. Her other film credits include the critically acclaimed biopic Frida, starring Salma Hayek and directed by Julie Taymor, and Oliver Stone's Savages opposite Benicio del Toro, among many others. She has also appeared in Poseidon and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Part 2, which also featured her song "Llovera" on the motion picture soundtrack. Additionally, Maestro has starred in such independent films as Timecode directed by Mike Figgis, La Niña Santa directed by Lucrecia Martel and Some Girls by Neil LaBute.
Maestro appeared on several seasons of the critically acclaimed J.J. Abrams television series Alias, as Jennifer Garner's sister "Nadia Santos".
In addition to acting, Maestro continues her passion as an acclaimed singer and songwriter. She has performed in cities all over the world, including Los Angeles, New York, and Buenos Aires. She has also collaborated with the UK band Faithless on their most recent album, in addition to recording and performing with fellow singer/songwriter Damien Rice, among other artists.
Born in Argentina, Maestro currently resides in Venice, CA.
