Keri Smith Esguia is the co-founder of Whitesmith Entertainment, a comedy and music management firm based in Los Angeles and New York. Smith cut her teeth in entertainment managing the career of comedian Margaret Cho, overseeing, among other things, Cho's international touring, merchandising, and concert film releases. Along with her business partner, music manager Emily White, she oversaw the production of the 2011 Grammy nominated comedy album “Cho Dependent” and accompanying music videos. As head of the comedy department at Whitesmith Entertainment, Smith works with some of the nation's brightest up-and-coming comedians and writers, including W. Kamau Bell, Kevin Avery (head writer on Totally Biased), Janine Brito, and Sara Benincasa. In addition to Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, Smith is currently producing a documentary feature with Bell’s political comedy group, Laughter Against the Machine. Her producer credits include the concert films Margaret Cho: Beautiful (Showtime), Cho Dependent (Showtime), and the short film Thugs, The Musical. Smith is a member of the advisory board of Women, Action and the Media.
