A dynamic actor on the rise, Zachary Knighton is making a name for himself on both the stage and screen.
Zachary was most recently seen in the critically acclaimed ABC comedy Happy Endings where he played the lovable groom ‘Dave Rose’ who was left at the altar on his wedding day by his bride, 'Alex' (Elisha Cuthbert). Zachary starred alongside Adam Pally, Damon Wayans Jr., Casey Wilson, and Eliza Coupe who have all garnered attention for their respective roles on the show.
Zachary recently wrapped production on the independent drama Teddy Bears, directed by Thomas Beatty and Rebecca Fishman. The film also stars David Krumholtz, Melanie Lynskey, and Ned Beatty. Zachary was last seen in the romantic comedy, Tug, opposite Yeardley Smith (The Simpsons). Previously, he was seen alongside Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in the soul-searching surfer comedy, Surfer, Dude, and in the dark horror remake, The Hitcher, opposite Sophia Bush. Other credits include the 2004 comedy romance The Prince and Me opposite Julia Stiles and Miranda Richardson, the drama The Mudge Boy opposite Emile Hirsch and Cherry Falls alongside Brittany Murphy.
In television, Zachary previously starred as ‘Dr. Bryce Varley’ in USA's 2009 sci-fi thriller FlashForward, as well as the network's 2005 comedy series Life on a Stick. He has been a guest star on the hit series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and made appearances in the longstanding drama series Law & Order, as well as USA's Ed and Related. In addition to his television series credits, Zachary appeared in the biography drama USA TV movie, Sally Hemmings: An American Scandal.
Zachary has also expanded his body of work with several theatrical productions. Some of his stage credits include The Pumpkin Pie Show, the off-Broadway play, Birdy, Madame Melville and Endgame. For his standout performance in Equus, Zachary was nominated for the Irene Ryan Award.
Zachary got his B.F.A. in theatre from Virginia Commonwealth University and studied abroad at Oxford University where he further honed his craft. Currently, he resides in Los Angeles where he enjoys surfing and sailing.
