Watch American Horror Story's First Season Eight Teaser

The official poster for the eighth installment of the drama series, titled Apocalypse, was also released.

Are you ready for the end of the world?

If not, it's high time to get ready because the first teaser and the official poster for American Horror Story: Apocalypse has arrived. After watching the creepy, unsettling clip, you might have more questions than answers about the eighth season. But isn't that part of the fun?

The teaser, titled "Hourglass," gives fans just a little taste of the horrors that are sure to come in the new season, represented by footage of scorpions, nuclear explosions, skulls, the satanic symbol and a hand turning an hourglass. Combined with the eerie official poster (below), AHS: Apocalypse is serving up a serious sense of foreboding with its imagery.

The cast and creative team of American Horror Story recently talked about what fans can expect from the upcoming Murder House-Coven crossover.

"I'm going to say that the story begins with the end of the world, and then our world begins," executive producer Alexis Martin Woodall revealed at the Television Critics Association Press Tour. "It starts in the real world. It's very tangible, and it's a familiar panic."

At the end of American Horror Story: Coven, Sarah Paulson's character Cordelia emerged as the new Supreme, and it's a position she still possesses when Apocalypse's story starts.

"She is the supreme for now. At the beginning of our story, that is the title she still holds," Paulson said. "I don't know how long that's going to last.  And enjoyment is not possible at this particular juncture in this story.  She's not running around like her mother, snorting cocaine and throwing young witches up against the wall, though she may like to be doing that."
