Emma Roberts stars as "Brooke Thompson" in the ninth installment of American Horror Story.

Career Highlights

Roberts is an undeniable talent who has built an impressive film and television career over the last decade.

Roberts starred alongside Betty Gilpin and Ike Barinholtz in Universal Pictures’ horror film The Hunt. Roberts also starred in Paradise Hills, the directorial debut of Spanish helmer Alice Waddington, opposite Eiza Gonzalez and Danielle Macdonald. The sci-fi thriller premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.

Roberts completed production on the Netflix holiday romantic comedy Holidate, which revolves around two strangers who agree to be each other’s plus ones for each holiday celebration over the course of a year. Roberts also lent her voice to the 2019 animated feature UglyDolls.

Roberts has so far starred in three installments of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story on FX. She is featured in American Horror Story: Apocalypse and American Horror Story: Coven as “Madison” and appeared in the fourth installment, Freak Show, playing fortune-teller “Maggie Esmeralda.” Both Coven and Freak Show received Emmy® nominations for Outstanding Limited Series.

In 2018, Roberts starred in Who We Are Now, which premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival and was a 2018 SXSW selection. Earlier in the year, Roberts starred opposite Michael Angarano in the film In A Relationship, which premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival.

In 2009, Roberts headlined the hit DreamWorks film Hotel for Dogs, which grossed over $113 million dollars worldwide.

Additional television credits include Ryan Murphy’s FOX comedy-horror series Scream Queens and the popular Nickelodeon comedy Unfabulous, which Roberts starred on from 2004-2007.

Roberts landed her very first audition by booking the role of Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz’s daughter in Blow.

Originally from New York, Roberts currently resides in Los Angeles.
