Taylor Elmore dropped out of high school in the early 90s to play in a series of nearly-successful grunge bands before turning his attention to screenwriting. After his feature script Elegy won the Independent Feature Project’s Beigel Screenplay Award in 1996, he worked on rewrites of the FOX 2000 feature Reign of Fire and developed the TNT miniseries Americus for Hamilton Jordan, President Jimmy Carter’s former chief of staff.The shift to television found him writing on the shows Enterprise and Freedom before joining Graham Yost on Raines for NBC. Prior to assuming his post on Justified, he wrote and produced two seasons for the CBS drama Cold Case. While working on Justified, Elmore is developing a project set on a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier with Gran Via Productions and Sony Television for FOX and a paramedic drama called The Ruins with Timberman / Beverly Productions and David O. Russell for FX.
