Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker Darren Aronofsky was born and raised in Brooklyn. Aronofsky heads Protozoa Pictures based in Chinatown NYC. As a director, his credits include&nbsp;π,&nbsp;Requiem for a Dream,&nbsp;The Fountain,&nbsp;The Wrestler,&nbsp;Black Swan,&nbsp;Noah,&nbsp;mother!&nbsp;and the upcoming A24 film&nbsp;The Whale. As a producer under his Protozoa label, Aronofsky has been responsible for&nbsp;Jackie,&nbsp;One Strange Rock,&nbsp;White Boy Rick,&nbsp;Some Kind of Heaven,&nbsp;Serendipity,&nbsp;Pacified,&nbsp;Catch the Fair One,&nbsp;Welcome to Earth,&nbsp;The Good Nurse,&nbsp;Kindred,&nbsp;The Territory, and the upcoming&nbsp;Limitless. His first book,&nbsp;Monster Club, written for middle schoolers was released September 13.
