Executive Producer
Anita Camarata is an artist manager, record label founder, film soundtrack supervisor and television and film producer. She has guided the careers of the Sex Pistols for over 25 years.
She began her career assisting celebrated record producers Richard Perry and Roy Thomas Baker before spending seven years as GM/EVP of Gold Mountain Entertainment, leading the development of the company and supervising the management of a wide variety of recording artists and soundtracks, including Roy Orbison, Bonnie Raitt, Belinda Carlisle, Miami Vice, Dirty Dancing and Desperately Seeking Susan.
Founding her own company, Eclipse Entertainment, Camarata managed artists such as Peter Frampton, Terri Nunn and the Sex Pistols, supervised the music for the multiplatinum soundtrack releases Above the Rim and Sunset Park and produced the feature film documentary The Filth and the Fury for Fine Line Features.
Anita Camarata formed Jersey Records with partners Danny DeVito, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher. As president, she oversaw acclaimed film soundtracks for Man on the Moon, Sliding Doors, Living Out Loud and Out of Sight, among others. Additionally, she served as executive music consultant on The Hurricane.
As head of music at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from 2000-2006, she took charge of all aspects of music activities for MGM Pictures and United Artists. In addition to supervising the music needs of its feature, television, video/DVD, interactive and marketing products, Camarata managed the company’s various record and publishing catalogues and guided the revitalization of MGM’s master recordings.
In 2008, she produced the Sex Pistols documentary There Will Always Be an England for Fremantle. She is currently producing music documentary series Heaven and Hell with Julien Temple and a new TV serial for Warner Vision.
Camarata lives in the Pacific Palisades, California with her husband and daughter.
