"Ezra Strauss," portrayed by Andrew Leeds, is the adult son of Alan and Beth Strauss.  He grew up as a member of the reform Jewish synagogue, but as a young adult made the decision to become Orthodox. While Alan tries to maintain a relationship with him and his grandchildren, Ezra always seems to push his father further away.

Career Highlights

Leeds can most recently be seen opposite Amanda Seyfried in Hulu’s The Dropout, opposite Bill Hader in HBO’s Barry and on A Million Little Things for ABC. He also recently starred in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist for NBC. Prior to that, he recurred for two seasons on Epix's Get Shorty and starred in the Paramount feature film Office Christmas Party. Other television credits include a series regular role on the ABC sitcom Cristela, a four-season arc on Bones and guest starring roles on The Morning Show, Veep, Silicon Valley, The Conners, Modern Family, Shameless and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Leeds is also a member of the Main Company at The Groundlings. Born in 1981, in Clearwater, Florida, Leeds started acting professionally at the age of eight. He first appeared on Broadway in the musical Teddy & Alice and soon after appeared as “Gavroche” in Les Miserables. He next starred on Broadway in the musical Falsettos as “Jason.” He graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Computer Science. He splits his time between Los Angeles and New York. As a writer, he has written pilots for various networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, USA and Showtime.
