Brad Simpson is an Emmy and Golden Globe-winning producer of film and television. He is partners with Nina Jacobson at Color Force. Simpson's film and television shows have collectively received 65 Emmy nominations and six Academy Award nominations.His most recent series, “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. &amp; Carolyn Bessette,” debuted in 2026 to critical acclaim. It quickly became FX’s most-watched streaming limited series ever with over 80 million hours viewed. Prior to “Love Story,” Simpson served as executive producer on FX’s “Say Nothing,” based on Patrick Radden Keefe’s bestseller centered around The Troubles in Northern Ireland. “Say Nothing” was featured on several “best of” lists and was nominated for a BAFTA for Best International Series.Simpson is executive producer of “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” and “Impeachment: American Crime Story.” For his work on the franchise, he has received two Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, two Critics’ Choice Awards, three Television Critics Association Awards, two American Film Institute Awards, two Producers Guild of America Awards, a BAFTA and an NAACP Award.Simpson is the executive producer of “POSE,” which was nominated for Best Drama Series at the 2019 and 2021 Emmy Awards, the 2019 Golden Globes and the 2019 Critics Choice Awards. “POSE” was awarded a 2019 AFI Award and a 2019 Peabody Award. He also executive produced FX’s “Clipped,” based on the ESPN 30 for 30 podcast “The Sterling Affairs,” “American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez” about the New England Patriots and Aaron Hernandez scandal, “Y: The Last Man,” an adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan’s fabled graphic novel series and the FX limited series “Class of ’09” starring Kate Mara and Brian Tyree Henry.Along with Nina Jacobson, Simpson produced “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” based on the prequel book in Suzanne Collins’ bestselling “The Hunger Games” series. Starring Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, Peter Dinklage and Viola Davis, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” premiered in November 2023 and was a global hit that dominated the Thanksgiving box office in the United States.The latest film in “The Hunger Games” franchise, “Sunrise on the Reaping,” which Simpson produced with Jacobson, will be released in November 2026.Simpson previously produced the hit film “Crazy Rich Asians,” which became a cultural phenomenon. It opened at number one at the U.S. Box Office, went on to gross over $230 million worldwide, won the 2019 Critics’ Choice Award for Best Comedy and was nominated for a 2019 Golden Globe Award and a 2019 PGA Award. Simpson was also an executive producer on “World War Z” starring Brad Pitt, which grossed over $540 million worldwide. Along with Jacobson, Simpson produced the incredibly successful “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” franchise which spanned four films.In 2019, he produced Joe Robert Cole’s directorial debut, “All Day and a Night,” for Netflix and “The Goldfinch” starring Nicole Kidman, based on the critically acclaimed novel by Donna Tartt. In 2018, he produced “Ben Is Back” starring Julia Roberts, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival to critical acclaim.Prior to joining Color Force, Simpson was president of Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way.He began his career as a producer and executive at the legendary New York indie production company Killer Films. While there, Simpson co-produced the multiple Academy Award-nominated film “Far from Heaven,” served as associate producer on the Academy Award-winner “Boys Don’t Cry” and produced “Party Monster,” which was selected for official competition at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival and screened at the 2003 Berlin International Film Festival. He served as co-producer on “Home at the End of the World” and associate producer on Todd Graff’s cult film “Camp.” As an executive at Killer Films, Simpson was involved with such classic independent films as “Velvet Goldmine,” “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” “Happiness” and “One Hour Photo.”Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Simpson graduated magna cum laude from Brown University.
