Elisabeth Moss will next begin production on the sixth and final season of the Emmy® Award-winning Hulu drama series The Handmaid’s Tale. Among the many honors and accolades she has received for her performance on the show are an Emmy and Golden Globe® Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series. With nine nominations to date, Moss currently holds the living record for most Emmy Award nominations in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category. She has also received an Emmy in the Best Drama Series category as an executive producer on The Handmaid’s Tale, the first streaming program to win in the category. Moss has also directed six episodes of the series.Moss recently starred in Shining Girls, a metaphysical thriller based on Lauren Beukes’ 2013 best-selling novel. She and her production company, Love &amp; Squalor Pictures, executive produced the project for Apple TV+ and she directed a pair of episodes.On the film side, Moss can most recently be seen in the Taika Waititi film Next Goal Wins, which also stars Michael Fassbender, and will next be seen opposite Kate Hudson in Shell, to be directed by her The Handmaid’s Tale costar Max Minghella. Moss will also serve as an executive producer under her Love &amp; Squalor Pictures banner.Moss’ additional film credits include Wes Anderson’s all-star comedy The French Dispatch; the hit thriller The Invisible Man; the independent drama Shirley, with Michael Stuhlbarg, which she also produced; the Independent Spirit Award and Gotham Award-nominated film Her Smell, directed by Alex Ross Perry, which she also produced; The Kitchen with Melissa McCarthy and Tiffany Haddish; Jordan Peele’s blockbuster hit Us with Lupita Nyong’o; the Academy Award®-nominated foreign film The Square, from Danish&nbsp;director Ruben Östlund, which won the Palme d’Or at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival; High-Rise, directed by Ben Wheatley and starring Tom Hiddleston; Truth with Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford; Queen of Earth, written and directed by Alex Ross Perry, which she also produced; The One I Love with Mark Duplass; Listen Up Philip, directed by Alex Ross Perry and starring Jason Schwartzman.Love &amp; Squalor Pictures is in development on several additional projects including Imperfect Women, a limited series based on the book of the same name which will star and be executive produced by Moss and Kerry Washington, and the feature Mrs. March, a psychological thriller also with Blumhouse. Love &amp; Squalor Pictures also executive produced Hive from writer/director Blerta Basholli, which was Kosovo’s entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards. Additionally, Moss produced the critically acclaimed feature film Light from Light, starring Marin Ireland and Jim Gaffigan, which made its premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.Moss’ additional television credits include Jane Campion’s highly acclaimed miniseries Top of the Lake, for which she received Golden Globe and Critics Choice Television Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Movie or Miniseries, as well as Emmy and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award nominations in the same category, and its follow-up Top of the Lake: China Girl; the award-winning series Mad Men, for which her performance as “Peggy Olson” earned her six Emmy Award nominations, a Golden Globe nomination and two SAG&nbsp;Award nominations; and Aaron Sorkin’s critically praised and award-winning drama The West Wing, on which she played “Zoey Bartlet,” daughter to Martin Sheen’s president.Moss starred on Broadway in The Heidi Chronicles, a Broadway revival of Wendy Wasserstein’s Pulitzer and Tony Award®-winning play, for which Moss’ performance as the title character earned her Tony, Drama League and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations.&nbsp;Moss’ additional theater credits include&nbsp;The Children’s Hour&nbsp;in London’s West End opposite Keira Knightley, the Broadway revival of David Mamet’s&nbsp;Speed-the-Plow&nbsp;opposite William H. Macy and her New York theater debut at the Atlantic Theater Company in Franny’s Way.
