Emmy-winner Rob Mac is the creative force behind FX’s “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” the critically acclaimed comedy series in which he co-stars and serves as an executive producer and writer. In 2020, following the airing of its 14th season, it was announced that the series was renewed for four additional seasons, shattering the record as the longest-running American live-action television sitcom in history. “It’s Always Sunny” has become a global cultural juggernaut for its unapologetic satirizing of human nature, consistently delivering record-breaking ratings year after year. Most recently, The Gang appeared in the first part of the “Abbott Elementary” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” crossover event, which debuted in “Abbott Elementary’s” fourth season in January 2025. The second part of the fan-favorite crossover was released as part of “Sunny’s” 17th season in July 2025.It was recently announced that Mac will executive produce and star in FX’s upcoming series “Far Cry” under his production banner, More Better Productions, with Noah Hawley also set to executive produce. The series is based on Ubisoft’s global hit video game franchise.&nbsp;In 2021, a two-season order was placed for FX’s “Welcome to Wrexham,” a docuseries chronicling the dreams and people of Wrexham, a working-class town in north Wales, as Mac and his business partner Ryan Reynolds take ownership of the town’s historic football club. The year prior, Mac and Reynolds teamed up — before ever meeting in person — to take over chairman duties of the football club, in hopes to turn the organization into an underdog story the entire world could root for – regardless of their experience with sports or working with one another. Under the helm of Mac and Reynolds, the team recently advanced to the EFL Championship, marking the first time in English football history a team has achieved three consecutive promotions. The inaugural season was beloved by critics and audiences worldwide and won five Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Unstructured Reality, the coveted Critics Choice Documentary Award in 2022 and most recently a Critics Choice Real TV Award in 2025.&nbsp;Additionally, Mac executive produced and appeared in FX and Disney+ Latin America’s docuseries “Necaxa.” The bilingual docuseries follows Mac, Reynolds and Eva Longoria’s newest football venture, the Aguascalientes, Mexico-based Club Necaxa as the club navigates a turbulent and transformational time marked by staff shake-ups, career-defining injuries and the relentless grit of a football team determined to defy expectations and deliver hope to its city. The series was released in August 2025.&nbsp;Mac is also the creator, executive producer and star of “Mythic Quest,” the acclaimed comedy series that debuted on Apple TV in February 2020. The series, which is co-created by Megan Ganz and Charlie Day and is a co-production of Ubisoft and Lionsgate Television, is set in the development studio of one of the most popular video games in the world. Since its launch, “Mythic Quest” has been lauded by critics and audiences and is recognized by fans as one of the best comedies on television. The series released its fourth and final season in January 2025. &nbsp;&nbsp;A native of Philadelphia, Mac started his career as an actor in small parts on the East Coast before moving to Los Angeles. It was there he connected with Glenn Howerton — who co-wrote the series — and re-connected with Day — whom he met on the 2001 horror movie “Campfire Stories” — and the trio filmed the pilot for “It’s Always Sunny” on a camcorder.&nbsp;
