"Ava," portrayed by Eve Prenelle, is a thinker. She thinks hard about science and God and friendship, and she’s hyper-sensitive to all the emotional currents swirling around her. Always the good one, always the quiet one, as Ava gets older, she finds she’s growing closer to her friends and her church and more estranged from her family.

Since Luke’s illness, Ava has felt very protective towards him and tries as much as possible to smooth his relationship with Paul.
