Jere Burns as Wynn Duffy | Justified on FX
A high-ranking member of the Dixie Mafia, Duffy's heroin business fell apart at the end of last season. He has now hooked his wagon to Katherine Hale's robbery scheme - a scheme they've contracted Boyd Crowder to implement.
Burns has recently joined the cast of Tribeca - Steve and Nancy Carrell’s police drama parody for TBS, on which Jere stars opposite Rashida Jones.
Burns’ recent string of dramatic roles is a departure from his breakout portrayal as “Kirk Morris” in Dear John. Since then, his work in television has spanned an array of characters and projects, but it’s his recent work that gets the heart racing. In 2013 Burns starred in the first season of A&E’s Bates Motel with his recurring role as “Jake Abernathy,” a connected criminal who torments “Norma Bates” (Vera Farmiga). Prior to that, he held a recurring stint for several seasons on AMC’s Breaking Bad as “Jessie Pinkman’s” (Aaron Paul) rehab counselor. And later, a season long arc on USA’s Burn Notice on which he played, “Anson Fullerton,” an adversary to “Michael Westen” (Jeffrey Donovan).
Burns’ television credits include Series Regular roles on Hill Street Blues, Max Headroom, Bob, The Mommies, Something So Right, Good Morning Miami, Surviving Suburbia, and Help Me Help You. In addition to which he held recurring parts on According to Jim, Boston Legal, The King of Queens, 8 Simple Rules, and Remington Steele.
On film, Burns is the lead of the indie Hot Air. He appeared in Prom, The Amateur, Greedy, My Giant, and Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles.
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Jere attended the UMass Amherst and later NYU’s, Tisch School of Arts. He got his acting start at the New York Shakespeare Festival, has worked both on and off Broadway and extensively in regional theatre.
A father of four, Burns is a former tri-athlete and avid runner who has hung up his sneaks in favor of a surfboard. Also at home in the back country, Jere is a serious skier and climber, and has scaled Mount Kilimanjaro among other peaks.
Burns currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Leslie, and his youngest son, Henry.
