David Alexander Kaplan

Rufus Weylin

"Rufus," portrayed by David Alexander Kaplan, is the only child of Tom and Margaret. Raised in a dysfunctional household by a father who shows frustration and disappointment towards his son, and an overbearing protective mother, he sometimes acts out with petulance and puckishness but deep down he’s isolated and lonely. Desperate for companionship, and at times life-saving help, he extends a long reach to find it.

Career Highlights

David Alexander Kaplan was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia to parents Alan and Zhenia Kaplan. Following in the footsteps of his older brother, actor Michael Kendall Kaplan, David has enjoyed many successes in both film and television.

In addition to his series regular role playing “Rufus Weylin” in FX’s Kindred, he also reoccurs as “#012” in five episodes of the award-winning Stranger Things (Season 4) on Netflix and appears with Brian Cranston, Rainn Wilson, and Annette Bening in the feature film Jerry and Marge Go Large.

What David loves most about TV and Film is the creative process, collaborating with fellow actors and directors, and telling stories through the art of acting.
