Rescue Me

Jim Serpico serves as an executive producer on Rescue Me, the critically acclaimed FX drama that enters its seventh and final season this year. Serpico, along with producers Denis Leary, Peter Tolan and Kerry Orent, was recognized by the Producer’s Guild of America when Rescue Me was honored with the 2005 Visionary Award, which acknowledges producers whose work demonstrates a unique or uplifting quality.&nbsp;A native New Yorker, Serpico co-founded the production company Apostle in 1994 with producing partner Denis Leary. Their New York-based production shingle has an exclusive television deal with Sony Pictures Television. Serpico is currently developing several series for CBS, NBC, AMC and FX. He previously served as a producer on ABC’s The Job, a half hour comedy that portrayed both the light and dark sides of being a New York City police detective; Comedy Central’s Shorties Watchin’ Shorties, a revolutionary animated series that took live stand-up performances and turned them into flash-animated narrative vignettes; and the critically acclaimed Comedy Central miniseries Contest Searchlight, a parody of HBO &amp; Bravo’s Project Greenlight. Serpico served as a co-creator on both Contest Searchlight and Shorties Watchin’ Shorties.&nbsp;Before segueing into television, Apostle produced the epic Ted Demme-directed cocaine saga Blow for New Line Cinema, starring Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz, as well as the Sundance Film Festival entries Monument Ave. (also directed by Demme, starring Denis Leary, Billy Crudup and Martin Sheen) and Double Whammy from director Tom DiCillo. Serpico resides in New York with his wife and three children.&nbsp;

Denis Leary is "Tommy Gavin." Tommy has come to terms with his involvement in his nephew's accident, but Damian's haunting presence is a constant reminder that one false move could be Tommy's last. With a dry spell at the firehouse and things running like clockwork without him at home, Tommy jumps at the opportunity to spend time with a vibrant old friend. But after a devastating five-alarm fire, Tommy decides that he's ready for a change of pace in his life.
