Rosemary Rodriguez wrote and directed the Sundance feature film Acts of Worship, which was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards, and received a glowing New York Times review.
Her episodic TV work includes Jessica Jones, Outsiders, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, The Good Wife (18 episodes, including the 100th), Empire, Rescue Me. She’s also developing the Showtime series Florent, starring Alan Cumming. Upcoming shows include The Walking Dead and Amazon’s Sneaky Pete.
Rodriguez’s second feature, Silver Skies, has been selling out at festivals, winning the Audience Award at Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival, Best Comedy at Tiburon, Best Feature at Manhattan Film Fest and was the Closing Night Film at Palm Beach International Film Festival.
She’s directing a documentary about renowned graffiti writer Lee Quinones, and her next dramatic feature will be Loose Girl, based on the memoir by Kerry Cohen, executive produced by Fred Roos. She’s also developing Overcome, the story of the passing of the Civil Rights Bill, from a screenplay by Brandon Reavis and Nick May, with Fred Roos executive producing.
Rodriguez hosts a podcast The Director’s Chair on WePlayRadio.com, with guests including Krysten Ritter. In addition, she is the Fourth Vice President of The Directors Guild of America, a Sundance Institute Mentor and lives in New York and Los Angeles with her comedian husband Nestor Rodriguez.
