Michael Hyatt plays “Cissy Saint,” Franklin's mother. Pragmatic and hard working, Cissy primarily raised Franklin on her own. Her love for her son has been unwavering, even as his choices have continued to conflict with her own. Last season saw Cissy pit between Franklin and his father. This season will test the bounds of her love as she searches for answers and possibly revenge.

Hyatt was born in England to Jamaican parents. At the age of 10 she immigrated to the United States with her mother and two siblings. Living in Maryland and later Washington, D.C., Hyatt slowly adjusted to the American way of life. She went on to study acting at Howard University for her undergraduate degree and continued at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts for her master's degree.
