Peyton Alex Smith stars as “James Kinsey,” Lamar’s protective older brother. Formerly known as J-Loco by his Crip gang associates, James faces pressure from Big Daddy to take over the family business. James finds a positive influence in Leon who once faced a similar temptation to return to the streets, until Lamar’s sheltered upbringing renders him unable to protect himself against the growing violence around him. James must choose between following Big Daddy’s wishes or be Lamar’s protector as they wade further into the treacherous world of Gangsta Rap.
