Career Highlights

Phil Parkinson took over as manager of Wrexham AFC on July 1, 2021. A hugely experienced former player and manager, Parkinson made more than 500 appearances in his professional career – the majority of which were with Reading – before embarking on his managerial career with Colchester United in 2003.Parkinson has won promotions as manager of four different clubs – Colchester United, Bradford City, Bolton Wanderers and Wrexham. He also made history at Bradford when he led them to the EFL Cup final – making him the only manager to take a fourth-tier Club to a major Wembley final. Parkinson has also managed Hull City, Charlton Athletic and Sunderland, and in January 2025 passed 1,000 games in football management.Working alongside his long-serving assistant manager Steve Parkin, Parkinson passed 200 games in charge of Wrexham during the 2024/25 season with the best win record of any previous manager of the North Wales Club. While with Wrexham, he has been named Manager of the Month on four separate occasions, became only the third manager to lead the team to a Wembley Cup Final in 2022 and won the League's Manager of the Season award for 2022/23.
