Nick Kroll has established himself as one of today’s most sought-after creators, writers, producers and actors in film, television, comedy and beyond.Kroll co-created, wrote, produced and performed over 75 voices on the Emmy Award-winning Netflix animated series “Big Mouth,” which is based on his childhood. The show garnered numerous accolades, including Emmy Award nominations for outstanding animated program in 2019, 2020 and 2021; Critics Choice Award nominations for best animated series in 2020 and 2021; a 2020 Emmy Award for outstanding derivative interactive program; a 2021 Annie Award for best writing – TV / media; a 2019 Annie Award for best general audience animated television/broadcast production; a 2022 NAACP Image Award nomination for outstanding animated series; and a 2019 Critics’ Choice Award for best animated series. “Big Mouth” was hailed by Vanity Fair as “one of TV’s most honest depictions of growing up.” Its eighth and final season, which aired in May 2025, made it Netflix’s longest-running adult animated series.As “Big Mouth” concluded, Kroll continued his animation partnership with Netflix with “Mating Season,” an adult animated romantic comedy set in the animal world, which he co-created, wrote, produced and voiced. The series premiered May 22, 2026.Kroll and the “Big Mouth” team — Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, Jennifer Flackett and Kelly Galuska — also created “Human Resources” for Netflix. Kroll served as co-creator and executive producer on the workplace comedy, which is set in the same world as the “Big Mouth” monsters and ran for two seasons.Kroll is currently in production on “A Hundred Percent,” a half-hour workplace comedy he co-created, executive produces and stars in for Netflix alongside Sam Richardson, Jason Mantzoukas and Vanessa Bayer.On the film side, Kroll can most recently be seen in “Roommates,” the latest comedy venture from Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions for Netflix. In 2024, he starred opposite Andrew Rannells in the horror comedy “I Don’t Understand You.”Last year, he launched the FX comedy series “Adults,” which he executive produces under his Good At Business banner and directs. Created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, the ensemble comedy follows a group of co-dependent housemates.In 2023, Kroll appeared in Hulu’s “History of the World Part II,” a sequel to the 1981 film. He also served as a writer and executive producer alongside Mel Brooks, Wanda Sykes, Ike Barinholtz, David Stassen and Kevin Salter, earning a WGA Award nomination for his work. He created and executive produced “Kroll Show,” which ran for three seasons on Comedy Central, and starred for seven seasons as Ruxin on the hit FX series “The League.”Additional television appearances include guest starring as Simon the Devious on FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows,” Apple TV+’s “Dickinson,” HBO Max’s “Our Flag Means Death” alongside Taika Waititi and Apple TV+’s “Roar” opposite Issa Rae.On the film side, Kroll starred in Olivia Wilde’s thriller “Don’t Worry Darling” alongside Florence Pugh, Harry Styles and Chris Pine, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. He also starred in “Olympic Dreams” opposite real-life Olympian Alexi Pappas. The film was shot on location during the 2018 Winter Games and released theatrically by IFC in 2020.Additional film credits include Jeff Nichols’ critically acclaimed “Loving,” “Operation Finale,” “How It Ends,” “Uncle Drew,” Ross Katz’s “Adult Beginners” (which he also produced), Sophie Goodhart’s “My Blind Brother,” Terrence Malick’s “Knight of Cups,” John Hamburg’s “I Love You, Man,” Shawn Levy’s “Date Night,” Nicholas Stoller’s “Get Him to the Greek,” Jay Roach’s “Dinner for Schmucks” and “Red One” opposite Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans, directed by Jake Kasdan and produced by Amazon Studios.He also voiced Uncle Fester in MGM’s animated features “The Addams Family” and “The Addams Family 2,” and lent his voice to Illumination’s “Sing,” “Sing 2” and “The Secret Life of Pets,” as well as Seth Rogen’s “Sausage Party.”In 2019, Kroll completed his Middle Aged Boy Tour, performing sold-out shows across the U.S., U.K. and Australia. During the tour, he filmed his Netflix stand-up special “Little Big Boy,” which is now streaming.Kroll recently wrapped his Broadway run in “All-In: A Comedy About Love” at the Hudson Theatre. Written by Simon Rich and directed by Alex Timbers, the production featured humorous stories about dating, heartbreak, marriage and more, adapted from Rich’s short stories originally published in The New Yorker.In 2017, Kroll made his Broadway debut in “Oh, Hello on Broadway,” which ran for 138 performances and received rave reviews. He starred opposite John Mulaney as Gil Faizon, alongside Mulaney’s George St. Geegland. The production was later filmed as a Netflix original comedy special.Kroll and John Mulaney also launched “Oh, Hello: The P’dcast,” a spinoff of their acclaimed Broadway production. The first episode debuted on April 3, 2020, with proceeds benefiting charitable organizations supporting COVID-19 relief, including United Way.In 2020, Kroll launched his production company, Good At Business. Under the banner, the company is developing an adaptation of Calvin Kasulke’s novel “Several People Are Typing” as a television series.
