Career Highlights

Bruce Greenwood recently played CBS News President Andrew Heyward in Truth, Jamie Vanderbilt’s drama starring Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford.

In 2015 Greenwood had a recurring role on the critically-acclaimed TV drama Mad Men. He recently wrapped the sci-fi/thriller Spectral and the drama Father and Daughters opposite Russell Crowe. He was seen in Andrew Niccol’s military drama-thriller Good Kill opposite Ethan Hawke. In 2014, Greenwood earned a nomination for a Canadian Screen Award for his performance in the film Elephant Song. He starred in Endless Love, Universal’s remake of the 1981 drama and reprised his role as “Captain Christopher Pike” in Star Trek Into Darkness.

He has acted in five films for acclaimed Canadian director Atom Egoyan, including The Sweet Hereafter, which earned the Jury Grand Prize at Cannes.

In 2012 he starred in the Oscar-nominated drama Flight opposite Denzel Washington and was also seen in A Place Beyond the Pines starring Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper.

Among Greenwood’s recent films are Dinner for Schmucks, Mao’s Last Dancer, and National Treasure: Book of Secrets. In 2007, his dual role in I’m Not There, opposite Cate Blanchett and Richard Gere, earned the Independent Spirit Awards inaugural Robert Altman Award. He is well known for his portrayal of President John F. Kennedy in the drama Thirteen Days, which earned him a Golden Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actor.

In 2006 he appeared in the thriller Deja Vu for director Tony Scott. In 2005 he starred opposite Philip Seymour as writer Jack Dunphy in Capote, which earned him a Screen Actors Guild nomination. His earlier films include I, Robot, Being Julia, Double Jeopardy, Rules of Engagement, Racing Stripes, Here on Earth, The Lost Son, Disturbing Behavior, Passenger 57, and Wild Orchid, among others.

Greenwood’s television credits include the ABC series The River, the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie A Dog Named Christmas, the HBO series John from Cincinnati, St. Elsewhere and The Larry Sanders Show.
