"Hour," portrayed by Sepideh Moafi, is a socially awkward but brilliant FBI trainee who becomes an agent specializing in data, believing that there must be a fairer way of solving crime. Underneath her brusque exterior are crushing doubts about her sexual identity. Fearful of being shamed by her family, she embarks on a lifelong struggle to come to terms with who she is, channeling that anxiety into her work as she grapples with some of the most intractable problems in law enforcement. 

Career Highlights

Sepideh Moafi began her career acting and singing in the opera, graduating from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Moafi participated in the Theatre Bay Area general auditions where she was noticed and landed her first gig at San Jose Repertory Theatre as “Audrey” and “Amiens” in As You Like It. She then applied to the MFA program at the University of California Irvine where she graduated in three years.

Moafi can currently be seen in the Apple TV+ series Black Bird opposite Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser. She can also be seen in The L Word currently airing on Showtime. She was a regular on USA’s Falling Water, ABC’s Notorious and she had a major arc on ABC’s Black Box.

Moafi’s other television credits include HBO’s hit series The Deuce starring James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, CBS’ Elementary starring Lucy Liu, CBS’ Limitless, NBC’s The Blacklist, ABC’s Forever, CBS’ The Good Wife, Showtime’s Nurse Jackie, CBS’ Unforgettable, CBS’ Red Zone and CBS’ Blue Bloods.

Her film credits include The Killing of Two Lovers which opened at Sundance, the feature film Quest starring Lakeith Stanfield, Best Man in the Dark starring Michael Kostroff and Violet Is Single starring Erika Pearson.

Some of Moafi’s regional theater performances include As You Like It at the Chautauqua Theatre Co., The Urban Retreat at the LAByrinth Theatre Co., Everything Is Ours at the Chautauqua Theatre Co., The Three Musketeers at the Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Henry IV, Part One at the Shakespeare Santa Cruz, The Fantasticks at the San Francisco Playhouse, Romeo and Juliet at the Palo Alto Players and As You Like It at the San Jose Repertory.

Her regional opera/concert performances include Le Nozze di Figaro at the Livermore Valley Opera, Agrippina at the Oakland Opera, Concert of Arias at the John F. Kennedy Center and Händel’s Messiah at the Davis Symphony Hall. She is also an ambassador for the International Rescue Committee.
