He prefers to be as neutral as possible about any controversy but has a deep soft spot for the teachers who work for him. He is hesitant to share his personal opinions, wanting to separate himself as much as possible from his work.

Enrico Colantoni continues to distinguish himself as a versatile actor who consistently showcases his talent in the world of film and television.Colantoni will next be seen in FX’s new comedy series English Teacher and opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in Season 2 of Netflix’s FUBAR. He currently stars in CBC’s police drama Allegiance and Crave’s comedy series The Trades.He can also be seen in several independent films including Caitlin Cronenberg’s Humane and Mother Father Sister Brother Frank opposite Mindy Cohn. He will also co-star in the action thriller Ballistic, the romantic comedy Miss Valentine and Mélanie Charbonneau’s feature Outstanding.In 2022, Colantoni played Rudy Giuliani in the National Geographic series The Hot Zone: Anthrax and had a recurring role in the Emmy® nominated Max limited series Station Eleven. That year, he won a Theatre World Award and garnered great reviews for his performance in the Broadway original Birthday Candles. In 2019, he reprised his original role as “Keith Mars,” father of the title character “Veronica Mars,” in Hulu’s revival series. He starred opposite Tom Hanks in the award-winning A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and in 2020 co-starred in Netflix’s Feel The Beat.Colantoni is known for creating iconic roles including “Mathesar,” leader of the Thermians in Galaxy Quest, and womanizing photographer “Elliot DiMauro” in the NBC sitcom Just Shoot Me.Colantoni received a 2019 Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Guest Performance, Drama Series for Travelers, and has recently appeared in Ghosts, The Good Fight and Westworld, and has previously appeared in Madam Secretary, iZombie, Hot in Cleveland, Warehouse 13, American Gothic and Bad Blood. He starred in CBS’s Flashpoint, the telefilm House of Versace and the Tom Hanks-produced miniseries The Kennedys. On the big screen, he has appeared in Kill Chain opposite Nicolas Cage, Stigmata opposite Patricia Arquette, Steven Spielberg’s A.I. Artificial Intelligence and Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion, which reunited him with his Full Frontal director.Colantoni has also enjoyed success as a writer and director with two short films: The Bike and Issues, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. He also directed two episodes of iZombie after appearing in the show.Colantoni has an illustrious theater background as well. After graduating from the Yale School of Drama, where he received their prestigious Carol Dye Award, he accrued notable theater credits including Neil LaBute’s The Distance from Here at the Almeida Theatre, The Merry Wives of Windsor at Shakespeare in the Park, Arabian Nights at the Manhattan Theatre Club, The Triumph of Love at the Guthrie Theater and Dracula at the Old Globe Theatre. He also played the title roles in Shakespeare’s Macbeth at the Matrix Theater and Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya at the Lillian Theatre.Born in Toronto to Italian immigrant workers, Colantoni remains loyal to his roots as an avid fan of both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Italian food. During his time on Flashpoint, he became very involved with the stories of first responders and has given his time to the cause, including working with the charity Heroes Are Human, which helps and educates everyday heroes in dealing with PTSD. He also produced a documentary called The Other Side of the Hero about the same topic.
