David Labrava stars as "Happy," who is intense. Violent. SOA's Sergeant at Arms. Takes pleasure in serving the club and exacting vengeance. Has a smiley face tattooed on his torso for every act of "happiness" he commits.
Career Highlights
Labrava is really enjoying his seventh season on Sons of Anarchy. He was hired at the show’s inception to be the technical advisor. After Kurt Sutter went up to Northern California to spend time with Labrava and the most notorious Motorcycle Clubs in the world, Sutter decided to put him on the show. “Happy the Assassin” was created. He has served in both roles ever since.
A gifted writer, Labrava has sold two shows to FX, wrote them to Pilot, and is now shopping them to the cable networks. He co-wrote episode ten in season four with Chris Collins and Kurt Sutter entitled, “Hands,” which TIME magazine named best of the season.
Labrava started his career as a camera operator for Zalman King, (91/2 Weeks, In Gods Hands, Red Shoe Diaries), and was then cast as the host of the Whiplash ZK series. Zalman taught him script writing and he has been writing scripts ever since. David created and writes the blog, Fat Bob’s Blog, which is on the FX website. Fat Bob’s Blog has built quite an audience over the years.
A multi faceted artist, Labrava is an accomplished glass blower, tattoo artist and a Five Diploma Harley Davidson mechanic. He builds Hot Rod cars for fun not profit. He has written for the motorcycle magazine, The Horse, for years, then got his own column in the national Hot Rod magazine called “Ol Skool Rodz.” He has gotten on the cover with motorcycles and cars that he has built. He is completing his first book, which will be out this year.
Labrava is the Writer/Producer/Director of an upcoming film with Premiere Pictures, he has a clothing company called Dogkulcha, which benefits dog rescue.
Labrava has lived all over the world and writes from life experience. He has found a home at FX. He sees the blank page finished, edited with the music.
