Ayo Edebiri is an Emmy®, SAG, Critics Choice and Golden Globe® Award-winning actor, writer, producer, director and comedian, who is a tour de force both in front of and behind the camera. Edebiri stars opposite Jeremy Allen White in FX’s Emmy Award-winning series The Bear.Edebiri made her directorial debut in season three of The Bear, for which she earned a Directors Guild of America Award nomination in the category of Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Comedy Series. For her masterful portrayal of sous-chef "Sydney," Edebiri has been awarded the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for season one, as well as nominated for the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for season two. She also received the Critics Choice, SAG and Golden Globe Awards for Best Lead Actress for season two and was nominated for SAG and Golden Globe Awards for her performance in season three.Edebiri can be seen starring in A24’s horror pic Opus opposite John Malkovich, which premiered at Sundance on January 27 and released theatrically on March 14. Upcoming, she will star in Luca Guadagnino’s highly anticipated feature, After the Hunt, alongside Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield. Amazon MGM Studios will release the film in select theaters on October 10 ahead of a wide theatrical release on October 17. Edebiri also recently wrapped production on 20th Century Studio’s Ella McCay, directed by James L. Brooks.Recently, Edebiri starred opposite Mary-Louise Parker in 2AM and Killer Film’s Omni Loop which premiered globally at South by Southwest in March 2024 to rave reviews and released theatrically in September 2024. She also voiced the character "Envy" in Pixar’s Inside Out 2. The sequel to the beloved animated film released in theaters in June 2024 and crossed the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office in 19 days of release, the fastest ever for an animated film and the highest-grossing Pixar movie of all time.In 2023 alone, Edebiri starred in MGM’s Orion Pictures and Brownstone Productions Bottoms, Searchlight Pictures’ Theater Camp and lent her voice to the role of "April O’Neil" in Paramount’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. She also had a role in indie darling The Sweet East and a cameo appearance as "Glory" in Columbia’s Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse.&nbsp;On television, Edebiri hosted episode 11 of Saturday Night Live’s 49th season to universal praise, and guest starred in season two of ABC and WBTV’s Abbott Elementary. Edebiri also served as a consulting producer and writer for FX’s What We Do in the Shadows, for which she received a 2023 WGA nomination for Episodic Comedy.In the animation space, Edebiri continues to voice the character "Missy" in Netflix’s hit show Big Mouth, on which she was also a writer, and stars in Netflix’s Mulligan and Max’s reboot of Clone High.
