The Bridge

Elwood Reid grew up in the suburbs of Ohio. He’s worked as a carpenter, cook, bartender, bouncer and teacher. He graduated from the University of Michigan with an MFA in Creative Writing and is the author of a collection of short stories, What Salmon Know and three novels, If I Don’t Six, Midnight Sun and D.B. He has contributed work to GQ, Outside Magazine, Details and numerous anthologies.In television, he has worked on Close To Home, Blind Justice, Undercovers, Cold Case and Hawaii Five-O. He is currently the showrunner for the 2013 Peabody Award-winning hour-long drama, The Bridge, a SHINE and FX Production (based on the Scandanavian series, Bron) presently in its second season.

Demian Bichir stars as "Marco Ruiz," a detective for the Chihuahua state police who answers to no man, but knows how to play the game with the cartel and its political pawns. He knows Juarez is a dangerous place, but stayed committed to it. He and Sonya Cross work to solve a case that turns out to be more complex than expected.

Diane Kruger stars as "Detective Sonya Cross," a strong-willed homicide detective for the El Paso police department with an off-putting style of communication. She calls it as she sees it. Her colleagues find her odd, but they cannot deny that she is extremely effective at her job. The murder of a Mexican cartel member in El Paso brings her and Marco Ruiz back together.

Emily Rios stars as "Adriana Mendez," a Mexican, Juarez-born lesbian living in El Paso. She is a smart and diligent reporter for the El Paso Times. She works with Daniel Frye to unravel the mystery of the Quintana money house while dealing with her sister who went missing in Juarez.
