Aidan Mitchell as Sam Malloy | The Riches on FX

Aidan Mitchell

Sam Malloy

"Sam Malloy," portrayed by Aidan Mitchell, is the youngest and quietest of the Malloy clan who takes the time to observe everything around him. Fiercely dedicated to his family, but also intrigued by life as a buffer, he manages to find an equilibrium that the others can not in Eden Falls.

Career Highlights

Despite the fact that Boston-born Aidan Mitchell is only 14 years old, he is already taking the acting community by storm with his role as ‘Sam Malloy’ on the The Riches. But Mitchell’s success is not a mere coincidence; despite his young age, he has been honing his talent for years. Mitchell moved to Ireland with his family at the age of three and lived there for the next seven years. While in Ireland, he began his career at the Town Hall Theatre in Gallway playing the role of ‘Bill Sykes’ in Oliver. After moving to San Diego, California in the summer of 2004, Mitchell began working with a dialect coach and almost immediately became a working actor.

His first role was on The TV Set with Sigourney Weaver and David Duchovny and was quickly followed by a starring role in the independent film Simple Things, which is scheduled to hit the festival circuits this year.

Mitchell is an extraordinary talent as well as an incredibly intellectual student. Also an aspiring filmmaker, Mitchell began writing his own scripts and, early in his career, was found rounding up friends and family to perform with him on the family’s movie camera. Needless to say, his audience has grown.
