Maxim Swinton as Solly Fleishman | Fleishman Is In Trouble on FX

Maxim Swinton

Solly Fleishman

Maxim Swinton portrays "Solly Fleishman." Toby and Rachel’s son is a wide-eyed, agreeable and guileless physics prodigy in the making — a curious, kind family peacekeeper and a heartbreaker who worships his dad. He’s not ready for the changes that his family has undertaken, or of the understanding that’s being asked of him.

Career Highlights

From bringing characters to life in comedic series and dramatic film projects to keeping a live audience on the edge of their seats with his stand-up comedy act in New York City, plus loving all things math and space, Swinton has quickly become one of the most in-demand young talents in the entertainment industry today.

In film, Swinton appears opposite Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke in Raymond and Ray for Apple TV+. The film premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival ahead of its October 21 release on Apple TV+ and tells the story of the two half-brothers played by McGregor and Hawke, respectively.

Swinton made his television debut at just six years old, appearing on Little Big Shots opposite Steve Harvey, where he displayed his human-sized Rube Goldberg Machine he invented, inspired by his legos and summer camp. Swinton has gone on to appear in a plethora of scripted film and television projects since, including Netflix’s Halston (as young Halston, with Ewan McGregor playing adult Halston), Bull (CBS), The Blacklist (NBC), The Blacklist: Redemption (NBC), Blindspot (NBC), NOS4A2 (AMC), T11 Incomplete, Becks and How to Get Girls.

Born in New York City, Swinton is the son of two immigrants. His mother, Inna (a lawyer, stand-up comedian and actress), immigrated to the United States from Latvia when it was still a part of the USSR, and his father, Rolfe (a tech entrepreneur), immigrated from Canada. Swinton began his acting career at just one year old, appearing in a Noah Baumbach film. He is one of New York City’s youngest stand-up comedians, making his club debut at just seven years old. Swinton won the Palm Springs International Comedy Festival’s stand-up competition and was the only minor in the festival. On the theater front, Swinton originated roles in Off-Broadway shows including Kooky Spook and American Juggalo

In music, Swinton is releasing his debut album this year entitled Songs That Make Me Happy. One of the highlights includes a collaboration with Richie Cannata (Billy Joel’s saxophonist) for an original rendition of the song “New York State of Mind.” When he is not performing or developing new comedy, you can find Swinton belting Queen around the house, working on math problems, planning his asteroid mining business, coding video games, practicing magic, climbing and golfing, taking care of his two rescued chihuahuas or reading his dad's vintage comic books.

Swinton currently resides in New Jersey with his parents and two sisters, Ava (a talented musician and rower) and Alexa Swinton (a successful young actress and musician).
