Demian Bichir stars as "Marco Ruiz," a detective for the Chihuahua state police who answers to no man, but knows how to play the game with the cartel and its political pawns. He knows Juarez is a dangerous place, but stayed committed to it. He and Sonya Cross work to solve a case that turns out to be more complex than expected.

Diane Kruger stars as "Detective Sonya Cross," a strong-willed homicide detective for the El Paso police department with an off-putting style of communication. She calls it as she sees it. Her colleagues find her odd, but they cannot deny that she is extremely effective at her job. The murder of a Mexican cartel member in El Paso brings her and Marco Ruiz back together.

Matthew Lillard stars as "Daniel Frye," an arrogant reporter with the El Paso Times. With a chip on his shoulder and a substance abuse problem he's trying to manage, he and his partner, Adriana, follow a money trail that may lead to the biggest story of their careers.

Ted Levine stars as "Lieutenant Hank Wade," who recruited Sonya to join his Homicide Division. He's a veteran cop who is no stranger to the chaos and crimes of humanity. Hank harbors a secret that could strain his relationship with Sonya.

Emily Rios stars as "Adriana Mendez," a Mexican, Juarez-born lesbian living in El Paso. She is a smart and diligent reporter for the El Paso Times. She works with Daniel Frye to unravel the mystery of the Quintana money house while dealing with her sister who went missing in Juarez.

Thomas M. Wright stars as "Steven Linder," an odd, rogue social worker who employs unconventional means to shuttle girls out of horrifying situations in Juarez and across the border. One of these girls, Eva, has become more to him, and he will stop at nothing to protect her.
